30 Scripture Based Prayers for Your Marriageਨਮੂਨਾ

Jesus, give us peace that passes understanding.
Our church family is studying the characteristics of the Lord this year and we’ve spent the past two weeks studying his peace. One morning as I sat on my big wrap-around porch, the sun rising right in front of me and the birds singing their song, I opened my Bible and thought to myself…wow, this is peace. Then, within mere minutes, the sound of crows crowded out the sound of song birds and my children woke up and immediately began squabbling. Even though I was sitting in the same place where I sat in peace, I no longer felt at peace.
That’s when the Lord so lovingly encouraged me with this: this place and these circumstances are peaceful, but they aren’t peace itself. Circumstances can offer moments of calm, but because they can shift in an instant, they can never be the source of our peace or the anchor of our hope. That’s why Paul reminds the church in Philippians 4:7 (NIV) that the peace of God will guard your hearts. He wanted them to know that even in the middle of persecution, false teaching, division, and even imprisonment, they could still rest in the unshakable peace of the Lord. Our surroundings may change, but the deep, unshakable peace of God remains constant.
Today's Prayer:
Lord, I want my marriage to rest in the peace that is of you and you alone. Help us to remain faithful in the midst of hurt and pain and to continue to worship you and you alone! Thank you that yours is a peace that can’t be shaken and that you desire to wrap us up in that peace.

About this Plan

Bringing your marriage before the Lord is both powerful and redemptive. When two imperfect people stand on Scripture and invite God to strengthen their bond, they build a defense the enemy cannot break. What a gift to know God is for your marriage, and for you. These next 30 days are an invitation to declare his Word over your relationship and trust him with what only he can do: protect, grow, and fortify your marriage from the inside out.
