Mama, You Be the Differenceਨਮੂਨਾ

Resilience is Your Super Power
Do you wish you had a superpower like the American comic book heroine Wonder Woman? A woman with superior strength, speed, and agility? A woman who can handle all the things that come her way? Even more, do you ever feel like the world expects you to be Wonder Woman?
Well, you may not be a superhero in a fictitious world, but you can still acquire a superpower beyond your own strength. I truly believe a woman who has accepted the love of God and believes Jesus is our Savior has a superpower—resilience. Resilience comes when God takes a painful circumstance in our life and not only heals us but also makes us even stronger than we were prior to the struggle.
You’ve probably heard the common saying, “Pull yourself up by your bootstraps.” It means to improve your situation by your own efforts—to succeed or elevate yourself without any outside help. At the mention of this gesture, it seems courageous to dig down deep within yourself for needed strength—that is, until your strength isn’t enough and the power to withstand something challenging sends you flat on your face.
You need more than your own effort to bounce back from heartbreak, stressful situations, or exhaustion. You need something beyond you! Specifically, you need God’s glorious power working in you. Only then will you be ready for anything, because it’s the strength of the One who lives in you that allows you to do all things through Him who strengthens you (see Philippians 4:13)
No matter where you find yourself today, something has caused fatigue to grip you in one way or another. Some days are more intense than others, but no matter where you are on the swinging pendulum, you crave a stamina that will carry you through. My friend, it’s His power working in you that will provide the resilience you need (see Colossians 1:29). And according to Luke 11:13, you can ask for more of the filling of the Holy Spirit, who will strengthen you. Just as Jesus needed endurance and resilience to accomplish His purpose on earth with the cross, you’ll need His endurance and resilience to obey God’s calling in your life—motherhood. He’s providing that same endurance for you to bravely bear what’s in front of you with His power and strength, not your own.
Reflection
John 10:10 says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; but I [Jesus] came that [you] may have life, and have it abundantly.”
No matter what struggle you’re experiencing, Jesus can make a way, revive your spirit, and birth new life within you through the Holy Spirit as you lean into Him and His power. Through the process of overcoming, you meet Jesus in a deep place of need—a place of full dependence. And through your dependence on Him, you’ll develop a quiet sense of security and humble confidence that births a renewed life and resilience beyond yourself, one fully committed to Him.
Is it His power you're tapping into today?
