Mama, You Be the Differenceਨਮੂਨਾ

What’s a Productive Life?
Do you feel like your days are spinning out of control? Does your to-do list seem to exceed the allotted twenty-four hours you have each day? Wearing multiple hats can cause exhaustion, and something has to give. For me as a young mom it was my relationship with the Lord.
You see, I was doing all these good things for God, but I was missing the most important part of my day: time with Him. I would walk by the chair that once occupied my early morning moments and whisper to God, “I’ll be there when . . .”Sometimes, we can allow the clutter in our lives to overshadow the necessity of living close to God.
When we allow our heart, mind, and soul to be captivated by our time with God, He will reveal the most important next step in our hour, day, or month. Let His presence bring order to your thoughts as you set aside alone time with the One who holds your days. Allow His peace to permeate a few minutes of your day to bring wisdom, clarity, and direction. The nearness of God is as close as you make it.
You make time for what is important, don’t you?
Many of us have bought into the cultural lie that a busy life is a productive life. And as moms, we thrive on productivity, but it can’t be at the expense of our alone time with God. I’m all for a balanced life, and that is what we twenty-first-century women try to achieve, but the one area that should be unbalanced is your time with God. It should be the one thing that tips the teeter-totter to the one side over all the others.
I know the early years of motherhood sometimes seem like they may last forever, but they don’t. Eventually, the children grow up, and you look back and think it happened in the blink of an eye. We’re given only eighteen years, maybe twenty, to rear our children. Trust me when I say that the best thing you can do for your family is to make getting into God’s Word a priority. It will be your lifeline!
Reflection:
God will honor your efforts in the time you spend with Him, no matter the amount of time, particularly when you’re a young and busy mom. God sees you and knows your heart. Cry out to Him and He will be found. Grab on to a verse and hold it tightly throughout your day.
