When Love Feels Dry: Rekindling Intimacy God’s Way 7-Day Devotional for Christian Wivesਨਮੂਨਾ

Day 3 – Catching the Little Foxes
Devotional:
Have you ever noticed that it’s rarely the big things that chip away at closeness in marriage? More often, it’s the little things. The small criticisms. The distracted “mmhmm” when your husband is trying to share something. The sharp tone when you’re tired. Or even the endless busyness that keeps you from really connecting.
The Bible calls these “little foxes.” They sneak in quietly, and if left unchecked, they can ruin the vineyard of love that God planted in your marriage. Most couples don’t fall apart because of one huge blowup—they drift apart because of daily neglect or small wounds that never get addressed.
But here’s the good news: little foxes can be caught. We can notice them, deal with them, and protect the vineyard of our marriage. Sometimes it’s as simple as saying, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean that the way it came out.” Other times, it means slowing down to give your husband your full attention when he’s talking. These small course corrections keep your love strong.
Don’t underestimate the power of little things—both the negative and the positive. Just as little foxes can destroy, little acts of kindness can restore.
Prayer:
Lord, open my eyes to see the little things that may be stealing intimacy in my marriage. Help me not to ignore or excuse them but to deal with them with grace and humility. Teach me to sow small seeds of love that will grow into joy, peace, and closeness in our home. Amen.
Challenge:
Catch one “little fox” today. Maybe it’s putting your phone down during dinner, apologizing for a harsh word, or choosing to smile instead of snapping. Replace one small negative with one small act of love.
