Stand Tall
The word stand in the Bible signifies firmness, perseverance, and unwavering faith in God amidst trials and spiritual battles. Believers are called to “stand firm in the faith” (1 Corinthians 16:13 NIV) and to “put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes” (Ephesians 6:11 NIV). It also reflects a posture of readiness and trust in God, as seen when Moses told Israel at the Red Sea, “Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today” (Exodus 14:13 NIV). To stand means refusing to waver in the truth, holding ground in righteousness, and relying on God’s strength rather than one’s own.
We help with individual’s postures and physical standing situations everyday, and we want to make sure that you have optimal posture, since it is the window to your nervous system. One exercise you can do is the “Doorjamb Push-up” that will help stabilize your trunk position and vitalize your lung capacity. Oftentimes, forward postures generally result in poor health. The “Doorjamb Push-up” is a simple maneuver designed to pull the shoulders back. To begin, stand in the middle of a doorway. Raise your hands to shoulder height or above, place the palms on the doorjamb, and lean your body into the doorway. Remain in this position for five seconds. We recommend implementing this exercise daily for optimal results.
