Impulses for the Way: 30 Days on the Camino De Santiagoਨਮੂਨਾ

I Am the Vine
Start your time with a few deep, silent breaths. Make sure you are ready to listen to the Holy Spirit’s leading.
In today’s video, Barrett takes us to a vineyard and reflects on all the intentional work it takes for a vinedresser to see fruit on the vines. That knowledge helps us understand why Jesus shared a vineyard metaphor with his disciples hours before his death. Jesus wanted to show them that knowing and remaining connected to him need to be the most important priority in their lives.
“Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me” (John 15:4, NIV).
Ask yourself: What word or phrase draws your attention from this reading?
Read the passage again and try to discern why that word or phrase is drawing you. What is the impulse of the Spirit you need to receive?
Prayerfully consider: Am I making my connection to Jesus my number one priority?
Conclude your time by resting in God’s presence. He is here. He is love. Remain in his love.
