“30 Pictures of Jesus” 30 Day Planਨਮੂਨਾ

Today we see Jesus as the True Prophet.
From the very beginning, the path to life was through listening to God’s Word. In the garden, God told Adam and Eve to be fruitful, multiply, and not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. That tree represented their choice to define good and evil for themselves instead of listening to God’s voice. When they ignored God’s Word, they chose death over life, and sin and corruption spread into the world. The way back to life is the same as it was in the beginning: listen to God’s Word and live.
That’s what prophets are for. A prophet is the mouth of God. To hear a prophet is to hear God himself. When God’s people were enslaved in Egypt, God sent Moses and Aaron as his prophets. They proclaimed God’s Word to Pharaoh: “Let my people go.” Pharaoh faced the same choice as Adam and Eve. If he listened, there would be life. If he refused, death would follow. Pharaoh chose his own voice over God’s, and he and his empire were handed over to death. But Israel was freed, given life, and led into covenant with God at Sinai. There, God gave them his law—a living Word to shape them into his holy people.
Still, Israel struggled to obey. They needed God’s Word spoken again and again. So the office of the prophet continued, with men and women raised up to call God’s people back to life by hearing and obeying God’s Word. But Moses also knew his death was near. Who would speak for God after him? At the end of Deuteronomy, Moses promised: “The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me… to him you shall listen” (Deuteronomy 18:15). God’s people longed for this prophet, the one who would perfectly speak God’s words and show them the way to life.
That prophet is Jesus. He is more than a mouthpiece for God—he is the very Word of God made flesh (John 1:14). On the mount of transfiguration, in front of the prophets Moses and Elijah, God told his followers to listen to Jesus (Matthew 17:5). Jesus never defined good and evil on his own terms but lived every moment in perfect alignment with his Father’s will. He only did what he saw the Father doing. He only spoke what the Father gave him to say. And after his resurrection, Peter declared that Jesus is the prophet Moses promised (Acts 3:22–23).
Even more, Jesus pours out his Spirit on his people so that Moses’ wish—that all God’s people would prophesy—comes true (Numbers 11:29; Joel 2:28; Acts 2:17). Now, by the Spirit, every follower of Jesus carries God’s Word. Together we speak the truth of the gospel into the world, calling people out of their own definitions of good and evil and into God’s way of life.
This is good news. We are no longer left guessing at what God is like or what he desires. In Jesus, the Word has come near. And by his Spirit, his voice is still speaking—calling us to life and making us his prophetic people in a world of death.
