Social Justiceਨਮੂਨਾ

True Justice walked among us
We can’t help but look for justice in an unjust world. When the weak are trampled, when the sick abandoned, when the poor go hungry, and the lonely have no one to call upon, we know there’s something terribly wrong with the world – it’s not as it should be. Some of us are stirred to help, while others feel overwhelmed, convinced the world is beyond fixing.
Jesus walked into THIS world.
Throughout the Old Testament, God’s heart is grieved when people oppress one another. In books like Amos and Zephaniah, judgement is pronounced on those who crush the vulnerable. In Micah, God confronts those who exploit widows and the poor. Social justice is not a modern concept – it’s rooted in the very character of God. And yet, scripture reminds us, ‘None is righteous, no, not one’ (Romans 3:10). In Isaiah 42:1–9, the servant of the Lord is foretold – one who will bring justice not just to Israel, but to the nations. Matthew 12:18 reveals that this servant is Jesus.
Jesus came to establish the kingdom of God. In Him every wrong will be made right. The blind will see. Prisoners will be set free. The oppressed will be lifted up. Social justice comes with Jesus – not as an agenda, but as the outworking of who He is and what He’s done. In this world, injustice lingers, but it will not last. A day is coming when Christ will set all things right. And until then we walk in His footsteps, practicing the justice He will establish forever.
