EquipHer Vol. 28: "How to Identify Divine Opportunities"ਨਮੂਨਾ

Day 3 – God’s Good Values
A divine opportunity will always align with God’s values, even when it challenges those of the world.
Over the past two days, we have seen that God calls us to trust His strength in our areas of weakness and His wisdom when our own logic cannot make sense of the way He works in our lives. Today, we will explore another typical aspect of a divine opportunity: everything that comes from God is always aligned with His values—and oftentimes, this means making countercultural choices that go against the standards of the world.
Sometimes, we come across opportunities wrapped like perfect gifts: they promise visibility, financial gain, influence, yet, when examined more closely, they carry a hidden cost—the compromise of our identity in Christ, our Kingdom values, and our integrity.
This is why the third indicator is crucial: divine opportunities are always aligned with God’s values. In order to properly embrace these opportunities, we must make intentional, and often countercultural, choices.
This principle is illustrated in the story of Daniel—a young Jewish man deported to Babylon (a society built on power, greed, image, and control). Daniel was selected to be trained in the royal court and could have easily adapted to the Babylonian culture (Daniel 1:3–5). However, this is not what he did. Instead, “he resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine” (Daniel 1:8, NIV), and was symbolically declaring: “I do not belong to this system. My values are not negotiable.” God honored Daniel’s bold and uncompromising decision by giving him favor, wisdom, and an influence that endured for generations (Daniel 1:17–21).
Every time we choose integrity over personal gain, we choose to honor God. Every time we decide against opportunities that involve moral shortcuts or manipulation in order to attract more clients, money, or power, we are prioritizing our Christian values and affirming that the opportunity is not one from God.
As daughters in His Kingdom, that is an identity that must be protected from any temptation to settle for what the world offers. As Romans 12:2 clearly states: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.” (CBS)
Discerning the will of God begins with permitting ourselves to be transformed by His Word. Kingdom values allow us to build a lasting legacy—a visible testimony that inspires trust, strengthens our faith, and transforms our lives into an authentic extension of the Gospel story.
Is there an opportunity in your life that is tempting you to compromise Kingdom values? How can you choose God’s will and honor Him through your decision?
Prayer:
Lord, help me recognize the opportunities that are not only good in appearance, but truly aligned with Your values. When the success the world offers becomes more appealing than Your approval, bring me back to the truth of Your Word. Give me integrity even when no one is watching. Give me the strength to choose what is right, not what is easy. Teach me to say no to what draws me away from You, and yes to whatever glorifies You. Amen.
