EquipHer Vol. 28: "How to Identify Divine Opportunities"ਨਮੂਨਾ

Day 1 – Weakness is Power
What if God’s most powerful invitations come disguised as personal inadequacy?
We often assume that divine opportunities arrive when we feel the most confident, prepared, and equipped, but what if God’s invitations show up right where we feel the most unqualified? What if His way of strengthening us starts by confronting us with what we would rather hide—our limitations, our fears, our insecurities?
One key indicator that can help us recognize a divine opportunity is that it confronts our weaknesses. It invites us to rely on God’s strength and power within us and not our own.
This is what happened to the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 12 as he speaks of the “thorn in the flesh”—a persistent limitation (perhaps physical), that weakened him along his called mission. He pleaded with God multiple times to remove it, but instead, he received a response that forever marked his heart: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9, ESV). God did not remove the “thorn” that made Paul feel vulnerable, instead, He used Paul’s fragility as the very means to manifest His strength through him.
As women navigating the business world, at some point in our careers we will most likely face a feeling of inadequacy, however, this feeling is not always a reason for us to step back. Sometimes, it is God’s way of showing us that on our own, we are not enough—but with His power within us, we are more than enough (Philippians 4:13).
When an opportunity highlights your limitations but simultaneously invites you to trust in God’s power, pause. Do not run from that tension. It may be the very sign that you are standing before a divine opportunity.
If you are wondering whether an opportunity truly comes from God, ask yourself: Is it bringing you face-to-face with a personal weakness? Is it pushing you to rely more on His strength than your own?
Prayer:
Lord, thank you that You do not ask me to be perfect—only to trust You. Help me to see my weaknesses not as obstacles, but as instruments through which You can work powerfully in my life. Teach me to rely on Your strength in every professional challenge, and let my life become a living testimony of Your grace. Amen.
