Day 2: Just Ask

"Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession." (Psalm 2:8, NIV)

This verse always makes me smile. God's not playing hard to get. He's saying, "You want influence? Just ask. You want to make a difference? I'm all ears."

We spend so much energy trying to manipulate outcomes, network our way to success, and scheme our way to influence. And God's over here saying, "You know, you could just ask me."

Prayer shouldn't be our last resort when everything else fails. It should be our first resort because it's the most effective. The God who runs the universe is taking requests. He's not a cosmic vending machine, but he is a loving father who wants to share his work with his children.

TODAY: Instead of trying to force a solution to a problem you're facing, start with prayer. Ask God for his perspective and his help.

GO DEEPER: Make a list of areas where you want to have positive influence. Instead of plotting your strategy, spend time asking God how he wants to work through you.

PRAYER: God, I confess I try to manipulate outcomes instead of asking for your help. Teach me to pray first. Show me how to be your partner in this world. Amen.
