DAY 1 OF 4

The First Church 🏠✝️

After Peter finished preaching, something powerful happened. The crowd was deeply moved.

They asked, “What should we do?” and Peter told them:

➡️ Repent.
➡️ Be baptized in the name of Jesus.
➡️ Receive the Holy Spirit.

The gift of the Holy Spirit wasn’t just for them—it was for future generations, and for those far off.

That day, around 3,000 people believed in Jesus. They started meeting together regularly—praying, learning, eating, and helping one another.

This was the beginning of something brand new: The Church.

🎥 Watch: Acts 2:37–47

📖 Observe

Grab your journal or notes app. Start with this question:
👉 What stood out to you from this scene, and why?

Now read:
📌 Acts 2:37–47

As you read, note:

  • What did the people do after they believed Peter’s message?
  • What kinds of things did they do together every day?
  • Was Peter calling them to public or private responses?

💭 Interpret

Let’s think deeper:

  • What role did generosity and hospitality play in this community?
  • How does this description of the early Church’s community reflect Jesus to the world around them?

🌱 Apply

The first believers responded boldly. They turned to Jesus, received the Spirit, and didn’t keep it private. They gathered, grew, and shared their lives with one another in Christ.

✍️ Journal Prompt: What’s one thing you could do this week to help your church, small group, or Christian community feel more like the first church described here?
