The Thief of Everything

DAY 12 OF 15

What’s one thing you’re good at? The skill, talent, or gifting you’ve been given that you know without a doubt you can be confident in? On the other hand, what’s one thing you’re not so good at? The ability or skill you wish you could be satisfied with, but have never seemed to pull off? Chances are, most of us may struggle to answer the first question with more than one thing, but we can likely give an incredibly long list to answer the second. Why? Because we all tend to see ourselves through the lens of what we can’t do rather than what we can. We all struggle to see where we’re enough! That’s when it’s important to remember that God’s lens is different.

When we see everything about us through God’s eyes—our gifts, talents, skills, and abilities, along with all the things we can’t or don’t do well—we can find a new confidence. Then, we aren’t worried about what we wish we could be good at or what we know we’ll never be able to do. Instead, we see the things we have right now as gifts given to us by the God who made us, enough just as we are. Today, focus on utilizing your gifts to their fullest potential! Think about what you’re uniquely good at and consider how you can use that gift to showcase what God is like to the world around you. Look for an opportunity to use your gifts in a way that points to God and lets you celebrate that you are, in fact, enough.

About this Plan

The Thief of Everything

It’s easy to get caught up in comparison. We compare our thoughts, words, actions, relationships, and even our faith. Chances are, if we’re honest, we’d admit that comparison makes us feel a lot worse. It has the potential to steal our joy, self-image, peace, success, and faith. That’s because comparison is a thief. As we’ll see in this series, we’ll look at the secret to breaking the cycle of comparison.
