Though the Eyes of a Child - a Video Devotional With Dustin Tavella and His Sonsਨਮੂਨਾ

Let’s Get Real:
What a way to end this journey—WE ARE LIGHTS!
I loved hearing the boys talk about all the amazing things light does.
Light shows the way.
Light drives out darkness.
Light brings life, warmth, and hope.
The “darkness” is real.
It shows up as lies, discouragement, sadness, fear, shame.
But here’s the good news: we carry a light that comes straight from Heaven—and that light has the power to push back every bit of darkness.
Big Truth: You Carry Hope
When we live out everything we’ve been learning—knowing God, trusting Him, walking in His wisdom, fighting with His armor, rejoicing in hope—we become beacons of light in a world that desperately needs it.
This kind of light doesn’t just shine when things are good.
It shines in the struggle, in the middle of fear, in the face of despair.
And it brings refreshment to everyone around us.
So, let’s ask:
- When people encounter me, do they encounter God’s light?
- Do they see real hope and joy?
- Am I the kind of person others can turn to when life gets dark?
God wants to use your life to create real impact.
But you have to choose it.
Don't Miss This:
Xander said something in the video that hit me hard:
When it comes to “bad guys,” the light is still connected—it’s just turned off.
That’s huge.
Nobody is too far gone.
Not your neighbor.
Not your friend.
Not you.
If you’ve been feeling too “messed up” or too far away—hear this clearly:
You're not disqualified! You still get to be a part of all this! It’s never too late!
Never too late to flip the switch.
Never too late to shine again.
Never too late to help someone else shine too.
If this hits home for you, I actually have another Bible plan called “Depression Is a Lie.”
It dives deeper into this truth: feelings of hopelessness are not the final word. Just because we feel too far gone, doesn't make it true.
God is still writing your story.
Prayer You Can Pray:
God, thank You for putting Your light inside of me. Help me live in a way that shines hope, joy, and truth to everyone around me. I don’t want to hide this light—I want to reflect who You are to a world that needs You. Use me to bring hope. Amen.
Bottom Line:
Jesus is the ultimate light—and He lives inside you.
So go shine.
Because darkness doesn’t stand a chance.

About this Plan

Sometimes we think we understand basic concepts in the Bible like faith, wisdom, and rejoicing. But Illusionist and America's Got Talent winner, Dustin Tavella, takes a dive into how profound these concepts can be when they are viewed through the eyes of a child. In this 7 day podcast series, Dustin sits with his 5 and 6 year old sons to talk through these very concepts. This bible plan is meant to inspire a sense of wonder when it comes to our Christian walk and breathe new life on some concepts that we may have grown a bit numb to.
