Though the Eyes of a Child - a Video Devotional With Dustin Tavella and His Sonsਨਮੂਨਾ

Let’s Talk:
The dictionary says wisdom is “the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgment.”
And when you really think about it… who has more of all three than God?
That’s why I loved how Xander broke it down in today’s video:
Wisdom is thinking like God and doing what God would do.
Simple. But so powerful.
Big Truth: God Wants You to Have Wisdom
Let’s rewind for a second to Solomon.
God literally asked him, “What do you want?”
And Solomon didn’t ask for money. Or fame. Or power.
He asked for wisdom.
He said, “God, I don’t want to lead people my way. I want to do it Your way.”
In other words:
“God, I want Your thoughts. Your mind. Your strategies. Not mine.”
That’s a bold, beautiful prayer.
And God honored it in a big way.
Lets Get Honest
Here’s a lie a lot of us live under:
“I’ve got this. I know what’s best.”
But how often has your way made a mess of things?
(I’ll go first. A lot.)
We don’t naturally drift into God’s wisdom—we have to ask for it.
James 1:5 says:
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
God isn’t withholding His wisdom.
He’s waiting for you to ask.
So, What Now?
Ask Him. Seriously.
Before you react. Before you post. Before you plan your next move.
Just say:
“God, I have some thoughts about this… but I want Your way. Help me think like You.”
And here’s the next step: Act on it.
Wisdom isn’t just about knowing.
It’s about doing.
What’s the point of asking God for wisdom if we’re going to ignore it?
Let’s be the kind of Jesus followers who don’t just listen—let's live it out.
Let's live as Christians who lay down our own will and trust God’s.
Prayer You Can Pray:
God, I want to walk in Your wisdom. Not just know what’s right—but do what’s right. I lay down my thoughts, opinions, and plans, and I ask You for Yours. Show me how to think like You. Help me act on what You show me, even when it’s hard. Make me someone who’s not just smart, but wise. Amen.
Bottom Line:
Wisdom is thinking like God and doing what He says.
Ask for it. Walk in it. Let it lead you.
About this Plan

Sometimes we think we understand basic concepts in the Bible like faith, wisdom, and rejoicing. But Illusionist and America's Got Talent winner, Dustin Tavella, takes a dive into how profound these concepts can be when they are viewed through the eyes of a child. In this 7 day podcast series, Dustin sits with his 5 and 6 year old sons to talk through these very concepts. This bible plan is meant to inspire a sense of wonder when it comes to our Christian walk and breathe new life on some concepts that we may have grown a bit numb to.
