Though the Eyes of a Child - a Video Devotional With Dustin Tavella and His Sonsਨਮੂਨਾ

Let’s Talk:
Even as I sit here typing this, I’ve got a smile on my face.
Today we talked about rejoicing!
When I look back over the last few days of this plan, I’m reminded of just how much we have to be grateful for. God has given us so much. There is always something to celebrate.
Sure, life throws stuff at us. Circumstances come that make it feel hard to stay upbeat. But the hope we have in Jesus? It’s bigger than anything life could throw our way.
Big Truth: Rejoicing Is a Weapon
Just like my son Silas said in the video, it starts with a choice—a discipline.
You notice one good thing God has done.
Then another.
And before you know it, you’re seeing God’s fingerprints all over your life.
It snowballs.
It shifts your focus.
It builds your faith.
When we rejoice—especially in the hard moments—it drives the enemy crazy.
That sound of praise that blesses God’s heart?
It’s like nails on a chalkboard to Satan and all his homies.
So, What Now?
You want to bless God’s heart? Rejoice!
You want to fight back when you’re struggling? Rejoice some more!
The enemy wants you to feel defeated.
Your rejoicing reminds him that you’ve already won and you know it!
Begin developing the discipline of finding the things you have to celebrate.
And then... CELEBRATE!
Thank Him.
Worship Him.
Let joy rise up—because that joy is your strength. Start with just one thing at a time. And, don't just feel like you have to think of physical things. Thank God for His friendship. Thank Him for His forgiveness. Thank Him for being able to trust Him. Thank Him for His constant, perfect love!
Prayer You Can Pray:
God, thank You for the joy You’ve given me. Even when life is tough, I choose to rejoice. Remind me of all the good things You’ve done. Let my praise shift my perspective and silence the enemy. I know I’ve already won because of You—and I’m gonna celebrate that every chance I get. Amen.
Bottom Line:
Rejoicing isn’t just a reaction—it’s a weapon.
Use it. Smile big. Keep your mind on ALL God has done.
About this Plan

Sometimes we think we understand basic concepts in the Bible like faith, wisdom, and rejoicing. But Illusionist and America's Got Talent winner, Dustin Tavella, takes a dive into how profound these concepts can be when they are viewed through the eyes of a child. In this 7 day podcast series, Dustin sits with his 5 and 6 year old sons to talk through these very concepts. This bible plan is meant to inspire a sense of wonder when it comes to our Christian walk and breathe new life on some concepts that we may have grown a bit numb to.
