7 Devotions to Perk Up Your Dayਨਮੂਨਾ

The Letter Bearer
Tychicus was a servant of God, a helper, and a friend of the apostle Paul. In the Bible Belt, everyone pronounces his name, “Tie-CHEEK-us.” The standard pronunciation is “TIK-ick-us,” but whichever way you pronounce his name, Tychicus was known as a faithful, loyal encourager to other believers and to Paul.
The apostle trusted his beloved brother as his courier. Tychicus delivered Paul’s letters, messages, and monetary gifts to the churches. An Asian Christian from what is now Turkey, Tychicus probably met and ministered alongside Paul in Ephesus (Ephesians 6:21). Tychicus did with a servant’s heart whatever needed to be done, whether small or great.
Sweet Spoonful: You might think the work you do for God is small and insignificant. Perhaps Tychicus saw himself that way, too, but he was also always ready and available to do the ministry footwork and the wearisome toil and travels. He likely had no idea how important his work was to God. You see, Tychicus and other fellow servants delivered to the churches Paul’s letters that would later become books of the New Testament.
