Discernmentਨਮੂਨਾ

Good or God?
There's an old saying that sometimes you have to choose between a good thing and a God thing – and that’s exactly what happened in this passage. In the earliest days of the Church, the apostles fearlessly proclaimed the Gospel wherever they could, to whomever they could. Surely they could go anywhere, and God’s blessing would follow? Apparently not.
Despite the clear spiritual importance of their mission, Paul and his companions continually sought God’s direction. While much good could have come from preaching in Asia, God had a better plan. They waited – and, in time, He led them to Macedonia instead. This decision is the reason we have Paul’s letters to the Thessalonians and Philippians in our Bibles today!
Discernment often means choosing between two seemingly good options. When you find yourself in that position, take a leaf out of Paul’s book. Don’t just jump at the first thing that seems godly – take the time to seek God’s leading. Who knows what He might do through it?

About this Plan

Discernment is defined as the ability to judge well; to be able to tell things apart. Today, the line between truth and fiction is becoming harder to discern but God’s Word promises us that if we have the mind of Christ, we will be able to understand and discern the things of the Spirit; the Truth. Pray for understanding as you follow along with this 5-day plan.
