After the Crossਨਮੂਨਾ

The Cross was horrific! The torture, the unfairness, the shame. The Intense Love that motivated it. It’s hard to turn our hearts to and focus on it. But it’s so, so important to gaze on the Cross and feel the weight of it. It’s crucial. But as important as it is to remember the Cross, don’t stop there. Don’t stop at the Cross. When God was giving John a glimpse into the future and Heaven, John did a face-plant when he saw the Heavenly Jesus.
But look at how Jesus responded: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last.I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades” (Revelation 1:18). Jesus described Himself as the Living One. He is not dead—He is alive forever and ever!
When you see the Cross, remember the Rise. It was Humanity’s worst versus God’s Best, and God won! Humanity created a temporary torture device. Jesus turned it into a place of our Forever Redemption. And then to make the victory even clearer—HE ROSE FROM THE DEAD!
Now, live in the life Jesus purchased for you. Realize that when something in your life is dead, it’s not the end of the story. Jesus can bring Life. Together, you and He, through His Spirit, get to do this Life together! Forever and ever and ever.

About this Plan

Although crosses are common to us today, they meant something different during Jesus’ time. The cross was the ultimate form of punishment, an extremely painful form of death that was reserved for the worst of criminals. Jesus experienced this painful, humiliating form of punishment, but the Cross was just the beginning of the story. We’ll look at the significance of the Cross, but also what happened after the Cross.
