Love Your Neighbor

DAY 4 OF 7

My Gifts and Strengths

What is so beautiful about the body of Christ is how we each uniquely carry Christ. We have distinct personalities, skill sets, interests, and life experiences.

Loving your neighbor is not limited to one expression. Presenting the gospel, doing yard work, volunteering with a local charity, or inviting someone over for a meal are all expressions of neighborly love. Love can show up in the intentional ways you build relationships and get to know your coworkers. Love can be reflected in how you interact with someone at the grocery store. What matters isn’t whether you meet specific standards; what matters is that your actions are rooted and established in love.

Chances are, you are already expressing Christ’s love to the people around you—even if you haven’t put a label on it. It’s worth noting the unique ways you naturally reveal Jesus so that you can build on them and make them an intentional practice. You have permission to try things out, noticing what works and what doesn’t, exploring the gifts and strengths you are meant to bless the world with. In this way, loving your neighbor becomes a journey of discovery.

Pay attention to what moves you. What stirs your heart? What brings you to tears or ignites a profound sense of compassion?

Reflect on what comes naturally to you. What do people often seek your help for? Do you naturally encourage, teach, organize, create, or serve?

Consider what brings you joy and energy. What activities leave you feeling fulfilled rather than drained?

Lord, reveal some of the ways you designed me to share your love with others. Please show me what it means to be generous and confident with my gifts. Amen.
