Beatitudes in Business

DAY 5 OF 9

"You’re blessed when you care. At the moment of being ‘care-full,’ you find yourselves cared for." — Matthew 5:7 (MSG)

Did you know that you can be a change agent in your workplace?

When we feast on the presence of God and receive His grace, we are equipped to be Kingdom ambassadors in every space we step into—including our workplaces. This means that we don’t simply conform to workplace culture; instead, we bring a new way of being human, modeled after Jesus.

One of the clearest ways Jesus demonstrated His humanity was through mercy and compassion. As Christ-followers, we are recipients of God's abundant grace—a gift we could never earn, yet one He freely offers.

Jesus didn’t just talk about mercy—He embodied it. In His divine compassion, He came down to live with us, to stand in solidarity with us, to truly know and love us. And ultimately, He sacrificed Himself to save us.

Through His life, Jesus demonstrated that true mercy isn’t passive—it steps into suffering. It sees people, acknowledges their burdens, and acts in love.

GOD’S FAVOR RESTS ON YOU—because you are worthy of love…

…and others need to know they are, too.

As Christ-followers, we are called to a death to self, allowing us to lift our eyes beyond our own concerns and step into the brokenness around us. Mercy moves us beyond feeling bad for someone—it compels us to step into their pain.

What does mercy look like in the workplace?

  • Standing in solidarity with a co-worker who feels unheard or unseen.
  • Noticing the burdens others carry and holding space for them with grace.
  • Showing up with intention, being present in a way that says, I see you, and I care.
  • And sometimes, mercy looks like receiving care yourself—allowing others to pour into you when you’re the one in need.

Mercy doesn’t wait; it moves.

As God’s Kingdom ambassadors, we don’t passively wait for things to be made right. We bring God’s mercy into the present moment.

Look around—who near you is suffering? Instead of offering a quick fix or distant sympathy, step in with presence and care. Listen. Encourage. Share the weight.

Compassion means no one suffers alone.

This week, practice compassion in your workplace.

Check-in on someone who may be struggling. Offer help, a kind word, or simply your presence. In caring for others, you’ll find yourself deeply cared for by God.
