Beatitudes in Business

DAY 4 OF 9

"You’re blessed when you’ve worked up a good appetite for God. He’s food and drink in the best meal you’ll ever eat." — Matthew 5:6 (MSG)

Something profound happens when we stop pretending to be something we’re not—when we release the expectations, pressures, and false identities that we’ve carried for too long. When we allow God to strip away what doesn’t belong, we awaken to a deeper reality—one that aches for redemption.

We long for things to be made right. We feel it in our workplace, in our leadership, and in the world around us. When we quiet the distractions that often consume our attention, this longing becomes even more apparent.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 captures this beautifully:

"Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end."

At some level, every day, we witness injustice. We experience moments that make us think, "This isn’t how it should be." In the workplace, this could look like:

  • Dishonest business practices that create a false sense of success.
  • Leadership that gaslights a team’s progress on a project.
  • Micromanagement that stifles creativity and trust.
  • Leaders who take credit for work they didn’t contribute to.

While this list isn’t exhaustive, most of us have faced a situation where the way things are clashes with how we know they should be. That tension—that deep hunger for righteousness—isn’t something to suppress. It’s not a weakness or a vulnerability. It’s a sign that your heart, soul, and mind are aligned with God’s heart for justice and restoration.

Here’s the truth:

GOD’S FAVOR RESTS ON YOU—even when you hunger and thirst for righteousness.

It’s easy to feel helpless or overwhelmed in the face of brokenness, but God doesn’t ask us to fix everything on our own. Instead, He invites us to bring our burdens to Him. We can lay our disappointments, frustrations, and desires for justice at the foot of the cross, trusting that He will guide us in His perfect timing.

True satisfaction comes not from striving, but from surrender—offering our deep cravings for justice and wholeness to the only One who can truly make things right.

So today, take a moment to reflect:

What’s one thing at work that feels unfair or broken? Instead of pushing through, pause and bring it to God in prayer. Ask Him to guide your next step—whether that’s speaking up, showing grace, or trusting His timing.

Pay attention to what stirs your heart this week. Where do you find yourself saying, "That’s not right?" Instead of letting frustration take over, turn that hunger into a prayer:

💡 God, show me how to seek Your justice here. Give me wisdom, courage, and faith to follow where You lead.

Let your longing lead you to action, and trust that God is already at work in ways you may not yet see.
