Peace Amid Change

Lord,

You know my thoughts and how they spin with anxiety when I face change. Relocations are hard! The what-ifs toss around their Goliath-like threats. What if you don’t like the orders? What if your family doesn’t handle the news well? What if the move is a disaster? I listen, clinging to the badgering whispers as if they are true. But it only causes me to stew—often to the detriment of relationships and my witness for You.

Forgive me for eating from anxiety’s buffet. I crave, instead, the delicacy of Your counsel and peace. Strengthen me to refuse anxious thoughts whenever I’m tempted to chew on them. Whether it’s the housing waitlist, dealing with the mountain of boxes, or the smallest need, cause me to savor Your truth and protection. Help me formulate simple yet profound prayers and petitions that flow freely from my lips. Settle me with a reminder to top them regularly with thanksgiving. No doubt You are deserving.

Thank You, faithful God, for guarding my heart and mind with Your beautiful peace.
