The Fatherless Journey for Guysਨਮੂਨਾ

Day 4 - Facing The Facts
Facing the Facts
Let’s be honest—the facts about growing up fatherless can be pretty overwhelming. Take a look at some of the real statistics:
- 90% of homeless and runaway children come from fatherless homes.
- 63% of youth suicides are from fatherless homes.
- 71% of high school dropouts come from fatherless homes.
- 85% of youths in prison grew up without a father.
Reading statistics like these can be scary and discouraging. I know I’m incredibly thankful that, by God’s grace, I didn’t become one of them. But I also remember how frustrating it was to be constantly labeled by those statistics. Maybe you feel the same way.
Here’s the truth: you don’t have to become one of those numbers. In fact, you can be part of changing them! And even if you have fallen into one of these categories, it’s not the end. Today can be a turning point. With God, your future can still be bright and full of purpose.
CHALLENGE:
These facts are hard to hear, but they don’t define you.
Yes, growing up without a father can deeply affect how you think, how you act, and how you view yourself. But here’s what matters most—you have a Heavenly Father who will never leave you.
If you’ve accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, you belong to God’s family. And with His help, you can break the cycle and live a life that brings Him glory.
Romans 8:17 tells us that although we may suffer now, we will one day be “glorified together” with Christ in Heaven. And Romans 8:28 reminds us that “all things work together for good to them that love God.”
Think about the athletes in the Special Olympics and Paralympics. Many of them live with physical or intellectual disabilities. The odds are stacked against them, but that doesn’t stop them from training, competing, and achieving their dreams. They’ve chosen to rise above the labels and push forward.
You may not have chosen to be fatherless, but you can choose how you respond. God has a purpose for your life, and with His strength, you can overcome anything—even the statistics.
ACTION STEP:
Write out a personal challenge for yourself.
Set a few simple goals—ways you can grow, achieve, and move forward.
Come back to these goals regularly and ask: Am I still on track? Am I rising above the label?
SUGGESTED PRAYER:
Dear Lord, thank You for giving me hope through Your Son, Jesus. Even though I face challenges because of being fatherless, I know that one day I will be glorified with You. Thank You for working all things together for good in my life. Give me strength to face the truth, rise above the statistics, and live out the purpose You have for me. Amen.
