I Have Questions: Body Imageਨਮੂਨਾ

My mom loves Emergen-C. Emergen-C is a vitamin drink my mom used when we got sick growing up. Although I think it tastes disgusting, it often improves my health. Emergen-C did not always solve my sicknesses, but it never made it worse. Kind words are similar to Emergen-C. They may not always solve a bad situation, but they rarely make the situation worse.
Although kind words are great, it can be easier to use unkind words, especially when we talk to ourselves about our body image. It can be easy to be unkind to ourselves when there are lots of messages out there about what the “perfect” image looks like. While it might be easier to be unkind to ourselves and others, unkind words spread anger, hurt, and negativity like germs. It is better to use kind words to not only stop the spread of the disease of anger or criticism, but to treat angry or negative infections in our own system.

About this Plan

Have you ever noticed how much attention the human body gets? We’re asking: “Why can’t I stop thinking about my body?” Since God created our bodies, this question has the potential to impact the way we see ourselves and the way we see God. This week we’ll discuss the topic of body image together, and we’ll find a perspective that shows us just how key kindness can be.
