Heaven, How Amazing Is It? Part 1 of "Heaven and Hell"

Dag 8 av 11

Heaven as a place of worship “And the four living creatures [...] day and night never cease to say, ‘Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!’ And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who is seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who is seated on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever.” (Revelation 4:8-10) John got a glimpse into heaven. He saw God sitting on a throne in all His glory. John uses all kinds of imagery to describe how wonderful this vision was: God's throne was surrounded by a rainbow, from the throne came thunder and lightning, and four special animals were busy day and night singing praises to God. But John also saw 24 other thrones standing. “Seated on the thrones were twenty-four elders, clothed in white garments, with golden crowns on their heads,” he relates. Their white clothes symbolize joy, purity and dignity, and the crowns are also a sign of royal dignity. John does not tell exactly who these elders are. But they seem to be the representatives of all believers. Whenever the four beasts brought honor and thanks to the Lord God, the elders fell down before Him in worship. This vision shows that heaven is a place of worship. When you read about animals, angels and elders singing praise to God, do you feel like joining in? How can you start doing that here and now?
