Among the first immigrants in the Bible was Abraham. He was called by God to leave his homeland and go to another land that God would show him. He didn’t know where he was going or how he would get there, but the fact that he was leaving his home was a testament to his trust in God. When he and his family made the journey, arriving at the place God had shown them, God provided for and protected them. This migration experience showed Abraham that God had a new way of life for him and his family. Abraham’s obedience and trust in God, his belief in the Lord’s provision, was counted to him as righteousness.
