In Genesis 41, Joseph finds himself at this crossroads. Pharaoh has been troubled by dreams, and Joseph is called upon to interpret them. He reveals to Pharaoh that the dreams predict seven years of abundance followed by seven years of famine in Egypt. Joseph's faith in God and his understanding of the dreams lead him to propose an economic strategy of storing grain during the years of abundance to prepare for the coming famine. Joseph's trust in God's wisdom and his obedience to God's plan results in Egypt being saved from the devastating effects of the famine. I love how this story reminds us that trusting God with our possessions means not only relying on Him for provision but also seeking – and acting on –His guidance in managing resources wisely.
