Dag 12 av 30

God's Loving Dialogue Adam and Eve dealt with the consequence of disobedience when conviction came to them through God’s voice. Whether they actually heard footsteps or were just aware of his presence, they knew they were wrong. God's dialogue with Adam and Eve may sound like a cold reprimand; however, if we consider God's complete character (which is described throughout the Bible), we recognize how this was God's loving dialogue with His children. Sometimes we try to hide when we want to ignore our convictions or shameful experiences to avoid a conversation with God. This typically happens when we perceive God's dialogue as a reprimand. Nevertheless, when we realize God's love for us, our convictions may be easier to address. Look at what God asks Adam and Eve, "Where are you?" God knew where they were, but maybe He wanted Adam and Eve to gain spiritual perspective of their relationship with Him. Knowing the answers already, God asked three additional rhetorical questions. God's loving dialogue offered Adam and Eve a spiritual perspective, and the principles still apply to us today. God's questions should be questions we should ask ourselves. When we ask, "What am I doing?" "Why do I feel guilty?" "How did I disobey?" and "What did I do wrong?" we can identify our spiritual posture. These questions can help us see how God loves us like a father loves his children. We also understand that in our human nature, we can be deceived. Thankfully, God's loving dialogue eventually points to Jesus, who saves us. Question: Where are you right now? Are there things you are hiding from? What might God want to say to you? Prayer: Take a moment to invite God into the very place you are—mentally, emotionally, and physically—and permit him to speak a word of encouragement to you.
