Becoming Like a Child

Dag 8 av 14

Trust what your heavenly Father says in His Word “Jesus said to him, ‘Have you believed because you have seen Me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.’” (John 20:29) Being a child of God requires faith in Him and in His words. You can’t be a child of God if you don’t believe that He is your great and trustworthy heavenly Father, and that Jesus Christ is God the Son who came to save you from your sins. Children tend to ask a lot of questions. They don’t take anything for granted. But when they get answers from their parents (or teachers, or other adults they trust), they accept these answers as reliable. We should believe like that. It’s good to ask questions. We do not need to live in ignorance. But when we find answers in God’s Word, we need faith to accept these as trustworthy for many crucial "claims" the Bible makes, can’t be proven scientifically or seen by human eyes. “We walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7). Thomas had a hard time believing that Jesus was raised from the dead, although Jesus had foretold this. “Unless I see in His hands the mark of the nails, and place my finger into the mark of the nails, and place my hand into His side, I will never believe," he said. But Jesus says that those who believe and trust their heavenly Father without having seen, are blessed. Do you believe like that?
