Indonesia: Think BIG! When it comes to Indonesia, are you thinking big enough? Indonesia is a big place with big opportunities to reach people for Christ. Some places in the world are simply hard to grasp. Indonesia is one of them. It is BIG in almost every way. As far as great opportunity to spread the gospel—Indonesia has 225 unreached people groups which represent 148.5 million people. Utilize the Missiographic link below and take a moment to explore Indonesia’s geography, population, religious makeup, and people groups. Then ask God how He wants you to respond to this BIG place. Personal Reflection When we hear the word “island,” we immediately think “small.” But while Indonesia is a group of islands, it is definitely not small. Indonesia is an archipelago comprising more than 17,000 islands and spreading as wide as the continental United States. Yes, Indonesia is big in many ways and it requires a big response. What were your perceptions of Indonesia before seeing this infographic? Were you familiar with the number of people who still need to hear the gospel in Indonesia? Many times we mistake things because of our assumptions or expectation. Things we consider small are sometimes bigger than we can imagine. Are you seeing the world as God sees it or based on your own experience? How do you ascribe value to a person, place, or opportunity? When God sees that group of islands that is Indonesia, He sees a BIG opportunity. Prayer: Oh, Lord Jesus, help me to see the world the way you see it.
