Year of the Bible: Part Six of Twelve Prøve

David's Mighty Men The Bible lists all of David's mighty warriors by name and tells stories of their bravery and courage. These thirty men were instrumental in achieving God's will and helped David secure the throne. The Bible makes it clear that David's accomplishments were only possible because of the loyal support of these warriors and friends. Furthermore, it states that their support and accomplishments were "according to the word of the LORD concerning Israel" (1 Chronicles 11:10). Some, if not most, of "The Thirty" joined David when he was fleeing from Saul. The life these men led while following David in the wilderness would have been harsh, desperate, and dangerous. A strong bond must have developed between David and these warriors, not to mention unbreakable loyalty. The mighty men would have honed their skills and developed their bravery during their adventures with David. Question: In friendships, are you championing those around you to become mighty and pursue the dreams of God? Do you have friends who do the same for you? Prayer: Pray for God to help you identify people with whom you can foster loyal relationships and who will help you develop and champion the dreams of God on the earth.
