Walking With Jesus (Unity)

Dag 7 av 7

## The "V" Formation Ecclesiastes 4:9 The uniqueness of the wild goose ( Olor columbianus ) can teach us something valuable. They will migrate in groups from southern America to Canada and northern Alaska to lay their eggs when winter is over. A group of wild geese can number up to five hundred geese. The journey of these geese has two features. First, they can fly to an altitude of more than 1,800 meters, higher than the mountain. This height enables them to escape the storm. Second, they will fly in a V formation that can reach a speed of up to 160 km/hour. Based on calculations, 25 geese flying together in this formation can travel 70% farther than if these birds fly alone. The reason is that the goose flying in front will "pave the way" for the other geese behind it. Each goose following the leader takes advantage of the goose in front of it that transmits air pressure upward with its sensitivity. This method reduces the overall lift required. The geese will also take turns to lead the way. Doing this will save their energy and enable them to travel very long distances. If one goose is sick, the other group members will not leave the goose alone. Another goose will accompany the sick goose until it recovers and can continue its long journey. The same principle also applies in the Christian family. Christian families are also called to live as a team and "fly in groups." Our life is full of dynamics; change after change comes one after another. Challenges and obstacles keep coming in and out. The pressure is too much to deal with alone. In such conditions, we must support and strengthen each other. We should not bring each other down or weaken one another. The husband should love his wife, and the wife should submit to her husband. Parents should love and educate their children in the way of God, and children should obey and respect their fathers and mothers. That's the thing we need to be a strong and harmonious family! Reflection: 1\. Does your family work in a team? 2\. How much do you care about your family? Is your family strong in the Lord? Practice: Working together as a team in a family will be much more enjoyable if we are willing to humble ourselves and put each other first.
