Spirirtual Attack

Dag 1 av 5

## Our Role The world around us is broken and groaning. As people of faith, we understand that we all have a part to take in the healing that is needed at every level. Along with practical action and relational reconciliation, we also recognise the need for spiritual healing. When things are hard it can feel as though we are in a battle. It’s so validating that God tells us that that feeling is real. There’s a spiritual battle that’s been happening through all of time since humanity turned away from God. The Bible gives us some understanding of the battle, making it clear that this isn’t a battle where we fight against other people, but instead our role in spiritual battle is prayer. We can tell God in prayer that we are feeling frightened, hurt, angry or powerless. We can ask God to fill us with His peace that is not shaken by world events. Then we can give thanks for the way God can inspire us with practical ways to love His world and the firm knowledge that Jesus has already won the ultimate battle for eternity. Here is a great prayer to start with that Jesus gave us in Matthew 6: ‘Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come; your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’ (Also included in some versions: ‘For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’) #### Written by KATH HENRY
