25 Songs of Christmas a Musical Celebration of the Season

Dag 4 av 25

[IMAGE CONTENT] # Day 4 — Emmanuel That moment God became flesh… The shepherds knew it. The wise men did, too. It was a moment of wonder and awe—a moment that changed everything forever. In sending Jesus to live on the earth as a human being, God was now with us in a way He’d never been before. That’s what the song “Emmanuel” was written about in 1976 by Bob McGee. As you listen, remember how much God wants to be with His people—remember how much He wants to be with you. He loves you so much. That’s why He sent Jesus that night to be born as a baby—so He could be with us in the flesh. You were on His mind—how much He wanted to be reconciled and have friendship with you (John 15:15)! He was thinking about how much He wanted to make you His child and bless you beyond measure (Galatians 3:26). C. S. Lewis wrote, “The Son of God became a man to enable men to become sons of God.”  As you celebrate the birth of Jesus this Christmas, remember to also celebrate how His arrival was the gateway to your becoming a child of the Most High God. Celebrate the fact that God is always with you, and He will never leave nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). God is for you, and if He is for you, it doesn’t matter what anyone in the world says or does—they can’t successfully be against you. That’s why no matter what is happening in the world or in your life, you can shout with boldness and joy, “God is with us!”
