Pray For Your Baby - Day 9 Pregnancy Prayer — Anger Eternal God, Your Word says that You are slow to anger and quick to forgive. Your anger lasts only a moment, but Your favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. Lord, You are compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in love and faithfulness. Forgive me, Lord, and show me how to be slow to anger and quick to forgive. Help me to hold my tongue and to keep silent when I need to be. These scriptures speak right where I need Your help. Help me to be compassionate and gracious at all times with my child, even when I am tired, hurting or having a hard day, because a gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. As my child gets older, let him or her not be quickly provoked in his or her spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools. Help my child to get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Sweet Jesus, please surround my child with the right people who reflect Your goodness. Give my child friends who will speak truth into his or her life. Help my son or daughter not to make friends with a hot-tempered person and not to associate with one easily angered, for Your Word says this. And when my child does get angry, do not let him or her sin during that time, but help my baby to control his or her temper and to ask for forgiveness if need be. Help my child to never go to bed angry, but to be the first one to say, “I’m sorry.” And I also pray that my child’s spouse will be quick to listen, slow to speak and become angry, quick to forgive, and full of love for You, O Lord. Thank you, Heavenly Father, for turning Your anger away from my child. Amen
