A Mary Plan How do we become more like Mary, and less like Martha? I want us to form a Mary plan. Decide on five things: a place, a time, a song, a verse, and a goal for spiritual growth. Where is your Mary place? Where can you be alone to have a quiet time with God? For me, in my home, it’s the front room, my back porch, or sitting on my bed, reading, before I go to sleep. An amazing Mary place, in Colorado, is just looking at mountains—the view makes you want to worship. When is your Mary time? Is it when you get up, after your shower, before you have breakfast? Is it in the middle of the day, or at night? Don’t say, “I never have Mary time.” Then you never have time to worship the Lord. You have to make a choice. What is your Mary song? Maybe it is an amazing hymn, maybe it is something brand new, a song you sing to God. Put on some headphones, play it right on your phone, on a radio, a cassette deck, whatever. What is the one thing that’s been distracting you, an area where you need to grow? How can you be more devoted to Christ?
