# Resurrection In the world of marketing, everyone is looking for the “Unique Selling Proposition” or USP, for whatever product or service they sell. They hope to find something so unique that prospective buyers will want their product. In the case of Christianity, the USP is resurrection. No other religion in the world preaches resurrection as the core of their religion. Only Christianity preaches resurrection, and in particular the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. In fact, without the resurrection, there would be no Christianity. The central theme of Christianity is that Jesus came to the earth, taught the Gospel of salvation, and died. But then He was raised from the dead by God because He could not be held by death. We die because of sin, but Jesus had no sin. He had never sinned, and so death could not hold Him. Jesus was resurrected by the Father to bring the New Covenant into being. The blood of Jesus became the blood of the Covenant, just as the Old Covenant was ratified by the blood of goats and bulls. And in His resurrection came a promise to those who would believe. He promised to set us free from our sins and the law in His death and to make us righteous by His resurrection. Thus, God declares us righteous when we believe that He raised Jesus from the dead and gives us the free gift of righteousness by faith. Also, because of our faith in the resurrection, we are offered the gift of the Holy Spirit and we receive the promises of salvation and eternal life. We will be part of the resurrection of the just when the Lord returns, and we will live with Him into eternity. All of this happens because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the faith we hold in what the Father did by resurrecting His Son after He was put to death. Consider these questions: Do you believe that Christ came in the flesh, died, and was resurrected to life? Do you realize that it was by His death you are set free from sin and by His resurrection you have been made righteous? A prayer point: Thank the Lord for going through this death and resurrection on our behalf. Thank the Father for the offer of His amazing grace so that we have this opportunity to enter the resurrection of Christ and have life with Him.
