Walking in Joy: The Fruit of the Spirit 7-Day Bible-Reading Plan by Kenneth Copeland MinistriesPrøve
Protect Your Joy
Joy is a foolproof way to victory.
Think about it. If you’re in joy, you’re in faith; and if you’re in faith, you’re totally unbeatable.
When you’re worried or anxious about something, are you feeling joyful? Nope.
That’s why you have to guard your heart to protect your joy. To guard your heart, you have to be careful who you hang around. Some people tend to be very negative and fearful, and they’ll serve their mindset to you if you spend time with them. The same is true of what you watch. If you fill up on the news all day, you’re going to lose your joy!
So, shut it off sometimes, and read the Word instead. Set your mind on the Lord, and pray about those things that need to be fixed in this country instead of worrying about what the commentators are saying about them.
Worrying won’t help, anyway. It only makes things worse. So, rather than being part of the problem, become part of the solution. Where this nation and current events are concerned, lift them before God, believe Him, and rejoice!
Refuse to receive a bad report about this country or anything else! Declare instead that Jesus is Lord over your life and this country. and that it is not going down into ungodliness. It’s awakening to God!
In the same way, when a problem crops up in your family, church, or business, instead of fretting about it, take it to the throne of grace. Pray about it, leave it with God, and then keep the switch of faith—and joy—turned on.
Faith is what gets your prayers answered. It’s what keeps the devil’s hands off your health, finances, and relationships. And the fruit of joy is a sign that your faith is strong. So, protect your joy, and your life will be better than you could ever imagine.
