What are Words? In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself (John 1:1 AMP). From the above Scripture, the Greek word for “word” is logos, and it means “a word, speech, divine utterance, analogy and is preeminently used of Christ, expressing the thoughts of the Father through the Spirit.” I know you might be wondering why all this “Greek,” but therein lies the principle of life and creativity. Logos denotes “the expression of thought,” and it was by the expression of God’s thoughts that we see the world as we know it. God created everything good, and He did it all by the “Logos”—Christ. What did Jesus say about Words? Let us look at the words of Jesus…He said, “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63 NKJV). From this Scripture, we can clearly establish that there are “life” words and there are “death” words, and Jesus emphatically establishes that His words are “spirit” and “life.” But whether the words are “life” words or “death” words, both are “Spirit” words. We don’t see words when we speak them, but yet they can create or destroy in the same way we don’t see angels or demons unless they manifest through a tangible body—it’s the same way words work. They exist in the spirit form, until the time of manifestation—be it life or death. In the same way, “death” words empower the enemy, so “life” words empower the angels of God and once we voice our thoughts we give them permission to manifest! Prayer of Creative Words Father, I understand that Jesus is the Logos and by Him, everything was created. Therefore, I will not speak idle words but I will speak creative words.
