Ask Think Imagine

Dag 1 av 22

“Ask, Think, or Imagine” If you’re not careful, you might miss the surprising truth hidden in Ephesians 3:20. We know that God, as the NIV puts it, "is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine" But it’s the "according to his power that is at work within us" part I wrestle with. God’s limitless power depends precariously upon us. Since Genesis, God has worked that way. Eden was fragile. The fate of paradise rested upon two bumbling, naked humans. The authority over earth and the responsibility of sin hung in the balance while an untested, unqualified couple wrestled with temptation. Under scrutiny and ridicule, Noah was asked to build a boat that would carry the seeds of future earth. In his elderly state, Abraham was supposed to muster up enough stamina to conceive and subsequently raise a child who would become a nation. God’s interdependence is a mystery. He doesn’t need us, but He chooses to work through us to accomplish His plans. This unsettling premise gives me hope. The rules haven’t changed. God’s still waiting on someone naive enough to be optimistic, someone bold enough to believe the improbable. As it has always been, it will be enormously difficult—but equally rewarding.
