Who Is God?Prøve

God is Independent God is completely independent of the world. He is love, holy, righteous and eternal; apart from   the world. The world doesn’t add or give anything to him. Rather, these verses show us that God is the giver of all things and the one through whom everything comes. (see Rom 11:35-36) The world is dependent on God, but God is not constrained by it  or obligated to act in any way towards it. This means that where God does interact with the world, he does so freely. How much more amazing is it that God would have a relationship with us when done without his own need for it! Do you enjoy being a dependent child of God? What comfort is it knowing that God doesn’t need us? Prayer: Thank you Lord that you not only created a world that you did not need, but loved it, even coming into it to save it. Keep me humble when serving you – knowing that you aren’t served by humans as though you need anything. Help me to remember that before I am your servant I am a helpless but loved sheep in need of my shepherd. Amen.
