In mercy, he shows his people how to live in a way that reflects his own character, not in a way that pursues selfish desires. And that includes loving others. ## Pray Heavenly Father, thank you for the way your laws are built on love. Specifically, how does God instruct his people to act instead? ## Respond Following God’s laws can feel unnatural, or even just too hard to do. But following God’s laws leads to the best kind of society. Think of a time in your life when you observed or experienced grudge-bearing, revenge, or hatred. How would the situation have changed if people had loved each other instead?
