Inspiration from Nature On days when I really need inspiration, I go outside to look at the beauty of everything God has created. It works every time! It takes my breath away just to think about the infinitely great God who created the clouds, sunlight, mountains, flowers and sea. How unlikely is His love for me, a sinful human being? The surprising joy to discover that it is true, and that it will remain true even when I fail Him so often, inspires me all over again. God shapes with mathematical precision the magical patterns of bee hives and microscopically small crystals. With the fingers of a master artist He creates gossamer-thin flower petals and golden clouds, and fits 10 000 grains of pollen into a space the size of a pinhead. You and I can know that we worship an amazing God! The Bible tells us: “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge” (Psalm 19:1–2, NIV). Never allow the wonder of creation to pass you by unnoticed. Carefully look at each soft feather, each bright-colored flower, the changing cloud patterns against the blue canvass of the sky, the mountains and the sea, and worship the God who gave us these wonders to enjoy. Prayer O Lord God, how wonderful is Your creation! I worship You for the beauty of nature and for the joy it brings me. Thank You for this and help me never to take it for granted. Amen.
