Our Personal, Ultimate Intercessor

HARI 2 DARIPADA 10

Jesus our Intercessor To intercede for someone is to entreat or petition God on their behalf. Jesus does that for us all the time as these three scriptures describe: * Romans 8:34: “Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” * Hebrews 7:25: “ Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.” * Isaiah 53:12: “ he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors .” Isn’t it amazing that the Lord of the universe, the One who created us, never stops praying and interceding for us?! The Holy Spirit joins Jesus in interceding for us; Romans 8:26-27: “We do not know what we ought to pray for, but...the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.” Wow, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are both interceding before God the Father for us – and no one loves us more than God the Father, who sent His Son to earth to redeem us. We are in a beloved position if we open our hearts to Him! Good news on top of good news! We get to join Jesus and the Holy Spirit in interceding for those around us. The Scriptures are clear. God wants us to join Him in interceding: * Ezekiel 22:30: "I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land...” * Isaiah 59:15-16: “ The Lord saw it, and it displeased him that there was no justice. He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no one to intercede; then his own arm brought him salvation, and his righteousness upheld him.” Reflection: How exciting is it that our triune God is praying for us all the time, and we get to join Him in those prayers?
