On the Flip SideSampel

Is there anything more difficult than a group project? Part of the reason why some people don't enjoy them is that there's always one or two people who end up doing nearly all of the work but getting only part of the credit! It doesn't seem fair, does it? And over time, whether you're working hard on a project or part of a team, there will be times when you will be undervalued. How can we deal with this feeling?
In the most famous sermon ever given, the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus tells his listeners to give their gifts in private. Yes, sometimes you will be undervalued, and sometimes you won't get the credit due — and may even be overlooked. But Jesus reminds us that no matter what, God sees you, and that's the most significant way to be valued. God knows and loves you when it feels like no one else does.
Today, who can you share this good news with?

Jesus wasn’t exactly known for telling people what they wanted to hear. Jesus didn’t give feel-good sermons. He flipped people’s ideas about God, the world, and themselves upside down — usually in uncomfortable ways. In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll compare how Jesus challenged the religious leaders and what God says in the Old Testament on what’s wrong or right, good or bad, and just or unjust.
