Discovering the Identity of JesusSampel

Another day passes. John the Baptist tells two of his own followers, “Behold, the Lamb of God!” They follow Jesus, calling him “Rabbi” (“Teacher”) and staying with him that day. The Gospel has now revealed Jesus as a respected religious teacher.
One of the two is Andrew. The other is unnamed, but it’s likely that it is this Gospel’s author, John.
Andrew invites Simon to meet Jesus, claiming Jesus is the Messiah. Jesus calls Simon “Cephas” (or “Peter” from the Greek), which means “rock.” By giving Simon a new name, Jesus tells Peter what he will become and reveals himself as a prophet.
Philip follows Jesus too and tells Nathanael that they’ve found the one of whom the prophets wrote. Nathanael doubts that could be true because Jesus was raised in the insignificant town of Nazareth. Philip invites him to come and see.
