Not staying away from our worship meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging each other…

Coming together to worship was something most American Christians took for granted for a long time. Then Spring hit, and Covid-19 hit, and that all changed in a moment. We were not allowed to gather in person together for worship. We could no longer have our worship meetings as we were accustomed to doing.

No matter how good the production, there is just something not quite right in worshiping from our living rooms or bedrooms. It just cannot replace the feeling of lifting our voices together in one place. Praying together as one body is different than praying as one body in many places. Even hearing the Word preached is a little different when it arrives out of a screen instead of being in the physical presence of the preacher.

Maybe that’s why the author of Hebrews pointed that out to the believers. He knew we could not survive without meeting together for worship. Our gatherings are going to be even sweeter after being away for a season. Don’t let anything keep you from gathering with your church family and campus ministry this fall for worship. You never know when it may be your last chance for a while!
