Jesus Revealed Pt. 12 - This Is Why I Came...Sampel

### What condemns us? Thoughts on the Passage Jesus did not come to condemn mankind. God did not send Jesus to condemn mankind. Our rejection of Jesus – that condemns us. There are two reasons shown here. First, we reject what God has provided for our sin. That means we must find another way… and there is no other way. Second, we reject Jesus because He is the light that shines on our lives and we do not like being exposed. Light exposes what darkness hides. Spiritually, the Light of Jesus exposes our true feelings about our sin. We can say many good things, try to live good lives, but if our hearts have rejected Jesus, then our true motives are exposed. We do not want God’s forgiveness, we want our own way. Jesus makes it clear, when God judges mankind, our response to Jesus will determine our eternal destiny. We will judge ourselves by our response. Application It is a simple message but is still worth looking at everyday. When Jesus shines His light on our lives, are we hiding things or are we happy to have it exposed? Today, read God’s Word and let it shine a bright light on part of our lives. See if we make excuses for what it shows, or whether we are happy to see the light shine on it. It may show a beautiful life that is humble before God, or it may expose some things that need correcting. Be happy for either. Time to Pray Father, today I ask that the Light of Jesus shine on my life. I do not know if it will show good things to be celebrated or bad things that need correcting. Either one is fine. I want to have Your light shine on my life and reveal my heart. I know that You are faithful to help me correct anything that is wrong and encourage me with things going right. I trust You today. I want that day when I stand before You to be a day that exposes a heart that followed the Light and came to the Light. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
