Dry bones live again

It’s easy to look at certain areas of life and see only dry bones – lifeless dreams, broken relationships, situations long dead and buried. But God doesn’t shy away from dry places. In fact, He meets Ezekiel in a valley full of bones and asks a question laced with hope: ‘Can these bones live?’

Sometimes we’re afraid to hope again. We guard our hearts to avoid disappointment. But the same God who asked the question is the One who sends His breath. He tells Ezekiel to speak life – to prophesy over what seems impossible – and as he does, the bones begin to rattle and rise.

Hope isn’t pretending the valley isn’t there. It’s standing in it with God and trusting that His Spirit can bring life to what looks beyond repair. What are your ‘dry bones’? A relationship? A forgotten calling? A part of yourself you thought was gone forever? God is whispering today: ‘Can these live?’ And like Ezekiel, we respond in humility, ‘Lord GOD, You know’. His breath is enough. His Word is powerful. And nothing is ever truly dead when He’s involved.

Prayer: Breathe on the dry places in me, Lord. Speak life where there’s been silence. I surrender the things I’ve buried or given up on. You are the God who restores, revives, and resurrects. I choose to hope again. Amen.

Ezekiel
